About Us

Perched above the water at Pier 17 in the Seaport District, The Rooftop delivers something no indoor venue can compete with: open sky, salt air, and an unobstructed panorama stretching from the Brooklyn Bridge to the downtown Manhattan skyline. Every show here is a two-for-one, because the view is its own headliner.

Since opening, the space has earned a 4.7-star reputation across hundreds of reviews by getting the details right. Security lines move fast. Bathrooms are clean and accessible. Bars are stocked and staffed so you spend your time watching the stage, not waiting. The layout puts the crowd close to the artists, which means whether you're here for an intimate indie set or a high-energy headliner, the energy hits differently outdoors at 89 South Street.

Ask anyone who caught a show here, and they'll tell you the same thing: the combination of live music and that view is genuinely hard to top anywhere in the five boroughs. This is the rooftop that made rooftop concerts a destination.

What We Offer

The Rooftop at Pier 17 hosts a full calendar of live concerts spanning genres from electronic and indie to pop, hip-hop, and beyond. The open-air stage is purpose-built for performance, with professional sound and lighting that holds up even against the glittering cityscape behind it.

Private event bookings are available for corporate gatherings, brand activations, and special occasions that demand a backdrop worth remembering.

Every operational detail, from fast-moving security lines to well-placed restrooms, is designed to keep friction out of your night. The result is a venue that feels effortless even when it's packed, which is exactly why regulars keep coming back show after show.

"This place really blew my mind. I came here back in May for Elderbrook and had the time of my life. The lines for food and drinks plus security move fast. The views are absolutely stunning. Their sound systems are wonderful, not too low or too loud. There is plenty of space to dance or sit without being on top of each other. While the bathroom is kinda a far walk, the lines moved fast and the bathroom was super clean. There are vip sections for chase sapphire members but you gotta be reserve tier, so my husbands lowest tier on chase sapphire got us no upgrade and i think this aspect is super weird and unfair. Either way we were busy having too much fun to dwell on it. Food and drinks are not cheap, expect 20 bucks and up but everything tasted good. I loved their chicken fingers and frozen rose. I would totally come back here again. I noticed the crowd was mature and civil with 0 drama. That alone made me give 5 stars."

"I came here for the Bad Religion & Dropkick Murphys concert, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The venue is in a great location with stunning views—absolutely perfect for a summer event. One of the things I really appreciated was how well-organized the place was. There were plenty of restrooms, so there was never a long wait, and the facilities were clean. The food options were also solid—good quality and plenty to choose from, which made the night even better. Everything ran smoothly, from the entry process to the show itself. The atmosphere was lively and fun, and the sound quality during the concert was excellent. Overall, it was a fantastic night in a beautiful venue, and I’m already looking forward to coming back for the next event here."
